dow surged up to 1073 points on friday. but dow futures are down 40 ahead of opening bell. early thanksgiving hours for resellers and early deals on-line lead to a big increase in shopping over the four day holiday weekend. an estimated 139 million adults visit stores and web sites. and on the day congress returns from their holiday white house economist released a report today saying that if lawmakers don't deal with the fiscal health that consumers might curtail their shopping or the holiday season. this new report says that if taxes go up at the end of the year for middle and condemincome tax. it would reduce consumer spending by nearly 2 $1 billion next year.

weekend in oakland. were four people have been shot and killed since friday. the latest incident happened at about 60 yesterday morning in east oakland. police said two women were shot and killed near a minna and brookdale avenues. saturday and 80 year-old mother and a 19 year-old man were shot and killed. no arrests have been made at any of the incidents. these students have pushed the number of homicides in oakland this year to 150. >> chp officers are still looking for the driver who hit and killed one on highway 1 01 near the san francisco airport saturday night. according to the san mateo county coroner's

man wanted for a gang- related homicide was arrested in the middle of black friday shopping. 18 your role of jake up ha ro was taken into custody on friday while he was at a wal-mart on conference plaza in morgan hill. a santa clara probation officer recognized him in the middle of the crawls from a flier and called the police. he had an outstanding arrest warrant for the murder of a 16 year-old back on may 26th. >> two children were killed when a car collided with a minivan. chp said the wreck occurred when a toyota pre s cross the center line near placerville. striking a toyota minivan. up 473 people in the pre is were killed. they were identified as 38 your old sheng kun su,
